How to Ollie
Skateboarding Tips

This is the most basic trick of all. The ollie is the building block for all kinds of slides and grids. It also opens the door for a skater to try kick flips, and all the other tricks.

Even just buying a basic skateboard deck and trucks set-up should be sufficient for learning to ollie. Don't worry about fancy gear, all that can come when you start to learn bigger tricks!

Don't worry too much about image as a beginning skateboarder. Most likely other skaters will be cool to you if you are a humble beginner. Don't try and flash too fancy of gear when you don't know any tricks, otherwise you might get tagged as a poser. The best strategy to get respect is to focus on learning tricks when you first get started. Once you learn some tricks and get some skateboarding skills then you can upgrade to some nicer gear and continue your progression in the sport. But be patient. It takes time to learn all these new tricks.
